Warm Water Underfloor Heating
Warm water underfloor heating can be installed in many different types of floor contruction and surfaces:
Floor Types:
Solid Floor
Concrete or screeded floors are the most common floor construction into which underfloor heating is incorportated. Plastic pipework is laid out and permanently embeded in the solid floor. Insulation is required directly below the pipework to minimise heat loss.
Suspended Floor
Plastic pipework is either laid out along joists or on cross-battens and standard tongue and groove flooring is then laid on top. Insulation is requiredin the void below the pipework.
Floating Floor
Ideal above existing timber or solid flooring. Plastic pipework is laid into grooved, insulated floating floor panels. Standard tongue and groove flooring is laid on top.
Overlay
A low profile panel system laid over existing solid or timber floors and either directly covered by tile or laminate or a plywood capping layer used for vinyl or carpet.
