Kombi Gun MkII

“One Gun for All”
Different insulation types call for different staple sizes to ensure a secure connection. The NEW Kombi Gun MKII can still be used with short and long Kombi Klip staples, allowing one gun to be used for all Uponor underfloor heating installations, from one job to the next. The Kombi Gun MKII and Kombi Klips have been designed for use with Uponor MLCP 16mm and Uponor PEX in sizes 15mm and 20mm.

“Staples with staying power”
The barbs on the Kombi Klips are designed to be used in specific insulation applications and as such, demonstrate better holding characteristics than most common staples. Kombi Klip Short is to be used for applications employing EPS (expanded polystyrene) underfloor insulation with laminated covering (e.g. Rolltec) and Kombi Klip Long for most other underfloor insulation applications including plain EPS, foil faced PIR (polyisocyanurate) and foil faced PUR (polyurethane)(e.g. Celotex, Kingspan).

“Staples on the Gun, and not on the Floor”
A common occurrence that has leaded us to incorporate an outer casing for the Kombi Gun MKII is staples falling off the gun. This ensures that if the worst should occur the staples stay on the gun. Helped by a contoured staple retention block, the Kombi Gun MKII also assists with reducing staple jamming by adding weight to the Kombi Klips on the rail.

“Pipe-to-plate designed staples”
Kombi Klips are the result of extensive testing and have been designed with a special contour to hold the pipe 45% better than standard staples. These staples were developed to fall in line with section 4.2.7 of the stand BS EN1264 part 4, which states that the maximum tolerance in the vertical position from the pipe in the concrete is 5mm. Indeed, Kombi Klip Short has a patent for the special way in which it works. This allows the installer freedom of choice when it comes to screed types and the Kombi Klip system is especially effective if a free flow anhydride screed is preferred.

“New Outer Casing”
As well as protecting the staples from outside interference, that may cause damage, the outer casing prevents accidents that may lead to jamming. Should a jam occur at the base of the gun, Uponor has cleverly designed a hatch that promotes correct staple positioning whilst the gun is in use, and allows easy access should any problems occur.

“Even more comfortable”
Market research into systems of this kind has produced results showing that having the handle in a horizontal position, adjacent to the way we lay the pipe, puts unnecessary pressure on the hands and wrists when being lifted between staples. The NEW MKII version features as standard a vertical handle that runs parallel to the pipe, making the installation more comfortable, natural and precise.

“Excellent Storage”
The Kombi Gun MKII boasts a capacity of 105 Kombi Klips at any one time. Based on our recommendation that two staples are to be placed for every metre of pipe, a user can easily lay 50 metres of pipe without reloading. Less recharging means quicker work, and the transparent casing allows the user to see how high or low the staples level is before starting a particular area.

Mini Gun 32

Uponor Housing Solutions is pleased to introduce the Mini 32 battery pressing tool. An alternative to the existing UP75 battery pressing tool, the Mini 32 can press all existing UNIPIPE metal and composite press fittings from 12mm up to 32mm, without the need for external power.*

MLC pipe Fittings & Tools Concept

Uponors range of fittings, consisting of couplings, elbows, tees and a large number of other system components leaves nothing to be desired: Pressing or screwing – both methods can be used to ensure a permanently tight connection. With the advanced press fitting generation, Uponor is offering a multi-layer composite pipe system with reliable test safety. The fitting is designed so that pressure testing reveals non-pressed connections which would discharge water – a smart system designed for your safety. An additional bonus is the clever range of tools for fast and convenient installation.

Connection By Pressing
Press fittings are available for all practical applications. Press fittings of tin plated brass are available for all sizes from 12 to 75 mm. The system also includes composite fittings of PPSU in the sizes 16 to 32 mm. Specially developed clamp fittings are available for diameters 90 and 110mm.

Pressure sleeve of metal fittings
The pressure sleeve for dim. 16-32 mm of high quality aluminium is permanently connected with the fitting body. That means the O-rings are protected against mechanical effects during transport and handling. The integrated window enables a check to be made during installation to see whether the pipe is correctly inserted.

Uponor Pressing Tools
Uponor pressing jaws are designed specially for use in conjunction with Uponor electrical and battery-operated pressing tools.

In case pressing tools of other make will be used the respective manufacturer should be contacted in order to approve the qualification, warranty and operational safety.

A range of clever tools from pipe cutters to bevelling tools rounds off the MLC pipe system.
